~ Biar D’Chol Biar
What’d happened to the humble, charismatic, a peacemaker, a comedian, and the vice president of the republic of South Sudan: James Wani Igga? I haven’t seen giving speech lately, or haven’t heard from him since the J1 incident in July 8-11, 2016, in which three of them: President Kiir, vice president Wani Igga and the former FVP and SPLM-IO leader, Riek Machar were trapped inside the palace while fighting raged outside. Where’s he?
Nowadays, it’s all about this opportunist, a gluttonous and an uppity man:Taban Deng Gai, who always purposely pushes for a rebellion when he’s not at the helm of power. His power greed is something no one will ever deny because we’ve witnessed it umpteenth. And that is, when he was stripped off of his managerial position in Itang refugees’ camp, he rebelled with Dr. Riek; when he was stripped off of the position of governor of former unity state, he came to Juba, and pushed Dr. Riek to rebel; when he wasn’t appointed as a minister of petroleum, he rebelled against his own boss Dr. Riek; collaborated with SPLM-IG, and had become the FVP, a position he’s now admired more than anything else; walking red carpet in countries he toured recently, and is now probably eying President Kiir’s position since it’s closer to him than a nose and a mouth. Kiir Mayardit must be vigilant of this camouflage man!
As of now, the man is being idolized; doggedly followed like a he-goat by she- goats. The SPLM-IG leaders I’d respect for, had now become submissive to him though they’re high ranking members of SPLM political bureau than him as if he’s a ‘messiah’ who would deliver South Sudan from this mess while he was, in fact, the part and parcel of Dr. Riek rebellion. To the myopic leaders, how’s Taban different from Dr. Riek? Who haven’t seen him for the last 11 years he’s been in Unity state as a governor? What did he do to make former unity state a better state?
As of now, everyone in South Sudan and abroad is, TDG is the man of peace, yet they haven’t seen what’s in his mind…! But the magnanimous and noble man, whom we should pay much respect to because of his humble heart in which he always brings peace among the adversary leaders: Dr. John Garang and Dr. Riek, in which he humbly steps aside, to make ways for Dr. Riek in which he becomes the third man after his returns to SPLM/A in 2002; Kiir Mayardit and Dr. Riek Machar in which Dr. Riek position was compromised by IGAD for peace to happen, has now disappeared in the public eyes. Had we become a nation that deify criminals over the Icon?
And as a matter of fact, the vice president, James Wani Igga is a human being that has country in his heart since he took up arms against the Arabs in Khartoum and had never looked back. We’ve seen it numerous times that position hasn’t been the issue for him. All he wants is a peaceful South Sudan, in which everyone would live and prosper equally regardless of the tribe one hails. And that’s why he steps aside when voracious leaders negotiated their ways up. Shouldn’t he be our epitome and feel proud to represent us at UNGA?
So, why wasn’t he–Mr. Igga the one to lead the delegations or be part of delegations if president Kiir Mayardit wasn’t comfortable attending the UN general assemble in New York? Why TDG and the rest of the junior ministers dispatched to New York, and left the vice president behind? Why gives this menace man so much power, to represent both SPLM-IG & SPLM-IO? Isn’t what Kiir did before when he delegates all the works to his deputy, Dr. Riek in which he tasted sweetness of the power and started to chide him as a failed leader, and should be the one to take the front seat? Isn’t this government repeating the same mistakes she did in the past? The government officials in South Sudan had become a bunch of patsies, victimized by their own enemies, yet the idolized and rewarded them with lucrative positions. This government must know that acimiɔ̈l ace tääu të thiäk ke tɔɔŋ, ë ka lɔ̈m tɔɔŋ ku gut kɔc. Cië cï Bharkadhɛɛl cuɔk tom bël ka wät ka wää!!
Juba government must watch out the person she upbringings at the desperation of peace! Don’t get me wrong, yes, peace is needed the most but, I doubt TDG will convince SPLA-IO warlord in the bushes to lay down their weapons and join the Juba government! So, I’m a doubting Thomas when the government thinks they’ll achieve peace with Taban Deng Gai as the first vice President of the republic of South Sudan!
